 Dear Everyone in the HIS Community, We met 200 other choir members from all around Hiroshima at a workshop conducted by the composer Matsushita sensei. We were amazed at how resonant everyone’s voice carried in the big concert hall at Elisabeth Music University downtown. There was a huge pipe organ on the stage behind us and our voice echoed like in a tunnel. Takako sensei got to sit down and relax in the air-conditioned audience seat while we had to be under the hot bright spot lights standing for an hour!! But none of us gave up reading through challenging pieces and listened very carefully to the conductor’s directions. There was something like magic when 200 voice met together and sounded like one! Now we really have to work hard and feel good about our pieces. Uh,o–, I better not forget to listen to Furaha! in the listening link and practice with the hand movement!
