Parent Teachers Association

So, we’ve been back at school a week already, and it already seems like we’ve never been away. I hope everyone is surviving the heat. We at the PTA have also enjoyed a nice break over the summer, and are just beginning to get back into the swing of things, so please bear with us for a while, as we hope to have news of some fun stuff coming up soon.

Last Friday, we took some young representatives of HIS to the Hiroshima Branch UNICEF office and handed over ¥150,000 to be used to help the children who suffered in the aftermath of recent disasters. This is roughly 20% of the total funds raised by the International Festival on April 17th.

Thanks to everyone for all your hard work on that day. Not only did you help raise a lot of money for our school and our own kids, but you helped raise some money for a very worthwhile cause as well. If we can help others as well as helping ourselves, I think that’s a great example to set for our kids!

In case you’ve forgotten, it’s the festival this Saturday!

これまでに、￥100 ショップに、商品を寄付いただいた方、ありがとうございました。
玄関に、商品を入れる箱を置いています。状態のよいもので、これは売れる！と思われる物があれば、まだまだご寄付お願いします。不要なハンガーや、商品を入れる袋類もあれば、合わせて寄付して下さい。洋服をかけるラックを、当日お借りできる方、Joani さんかNoriko さんにご連絡お願いします。
Bake Sale　ベイク・セール
bake saleのために、お菓子を焼いて下さる方も、引き続き募集中です。お菓子を焼いて下さる方、ご連絡お待ちしています。

Flyers and Event Tickets　チラシとチケット
インターナショナル・フェスティバルのチラシとチケットができました。各家族に行き渡るよう生徒の皆さんにお配りします。生徒の皆さんが通っているバレエ、ピアノ、スイミング教室、レストランやバー、お医者さん、英会話教室など、多くの場所に貼ってもらって下さい。口コミでもお願いします！チケットは無料です。多くの人に来てもらいたいので、学校関係者以外のお友達や、ご家族に渡して下さい。もっとチケットが必要な方、PTAまでご連絡を。

ショップやパフォーマンスの申し込みの締め切りは、3月19日です。希望されている方は、お急ぎください！
インターナショナル・フェスティバルは、HISをアピールするチャンスです！みんなで、フェスティバルを盛り上げていきましょう！
Hanami　花見
今年の桜の満開時はまだはっきりとわかりませんが、タイミングが合えば、岩国にお花見に行こうかと思っています。3月または4月に、ファミリー・ピクニックをしませんか？日時は、メール、PTA ブログ、PTA 掲示板でお知らせします。
