Hiroshima International School offers a broad educational program, with opportunities for a range of school activities, including:
Field Trips: Each class goes on regular field trips as a part of their ongoing studies. Trips are dependent on the curriculum, and have recently included visits to a rice harvesting festival, to a potters studio, to a science museum and to the zoo.
Older grades (usually from grade 4 up) are taken on extended trips, including a home stay visit to a Japanese community and an overnight trip in the summer. Grades 7 and above regularly visit and host other international schools from around Japan for sporting activities.
After school training takes place for sports teams, who play matches and tournaments against other schools in Japan. Sports on offer include basketball, volleyball, and soccer.
