Overview

Hiroshima International School offers an early childhood educational programme based on the International Baccalaureate (IBO) Primary Years Programme (PYP).

EC3 & EC4

At present we offer a combined class for children between the ages of 3 and 5. Children must have their third or fourth birthday by 1September each school year for enrolment in the class. All children must be toilet-trained prior to admission. The EC teacher is supported by a full-time bilingual (English and Japanese) teacher assistant.

'Pre-1'

Children who are 5 by 1 September may enrol in the Pre-1 class. We have two combined Pre-1 & Grade 1 classes (see the document "Multi-age Classes at HIS"). Both of the combined Pre-1 & Grade 1 classes have full-time teacher assistants.

All classes run through the normal school day from 8:45 to 3:30
