What have you been doing since leaving HIS?
Since I left HIS I have been living in Michigan. I graduated from Oakland University and spent 6 years in the Army National Guard. I now have a 2 month old daughter and live in Grand Rapids working in a financial office.
What are your fondest memories of your time at HIS?
My fondest memories were our trips to Miyajima. One of our trips there we were able to walk out and touch the Tori gate. I also really enjoyed sports day and competing with everyone’s family.
What impact has your time at HIS had on your life?
Going to HIS sparked my interest in Japanese culture and language. I graduated with my degree in Japanese language and literature and love traveling back to Japan on holiday when I can. I always end up back in Hiroshima and visited HIS on one of my last trips.
Any other comments that you would like to share?
HIS was by far the best schooling experience I had as a child.
