Why did you decide to pursue an IB diploma?
At first, I did not think much about whether I should take the IB diploma. Rather, many student were taking it, so naturally I felt that I could take it as well. During grade 10, I figured that it would give me an advantage to apply for university in Japan. Therefore, I decided to pursue an IB diploma.
What advice do you have for current IB students?
There isn’t really a single answer that would help you get through the IB. However, as long as you keep asking questions to your teachers and classmates whenever you do not understand class material, it will help you stay motivated and avoid you getting left behind in your studies. In addition, CAS should not be the area that you work hard the most. As long as you “show” that you have reflected on your activities, it should be fine. It doesn’t require perfection(in a visual way).
How did you reach where you are today?
During my IB years, I cannot say that I worked everyday studying and preparing for my future years in university. However, there are always opportunities to think about how you want to shape your future, and what you need to do in order to achieve that. Personally, I feel that keeping positive and putting in some real effort for a certain amount of time allowed myself to reach where I am today. Although, there are many other ways and options in life that could take you to a better future. So, keeping in mind about what you want to do with your life may be the important lesson here.
