Principal’s Message

Dear HIS Community

Thank you very much for a great year which presented many challenges to us as a school as well as to you all as families. I would like to express my appreciation for your resilience and positive mindsets during the uncertainty that we faced. Please take care and stay safe over the summer holidays and I look forward to seeing you all back after the break. There are a few more messages that I will be sending out next week so you haven’t heard the last of me. I hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather.

Regards

Damian Rentoule

Crane Video

The Crane video comes from Gr8 this week with an important message for the holidays.

MYP Musical Performance

The grade 9/10 music students organized a project called the “Hiroshima International School 輪になれ広島 orchestra”. The purpose of this project was to lighten up the people in our community who may be struggling with the current COVID-19 outbreak. As the grade 7-10 orchestra has been practising the piece “Canon in D” by Johann Pachelbel for our annual Spring Concert, we thought that it would be a perfect digital platform to share the results of our efforts.

Jump Rope Challenge Video

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Jump Rope Challenge. That was a lot of jumps!

A note regarding my book

Thank you to Kathryne who shared a very nice review of my book, Conversations for a Global Child. A couple of people have mentioned to me that they have ordered a copy, so thank you for that. There is a Japanese version and an English version and I wanted to mention something about the Japanese hard-copy version. I just received the hard copy of the Japanese version and there was a problem with the printing. It was printed from left to right instead of right to left. The error has been fixed now with the printer, but I just wanted to let you know that if anyone did order the Japanese hard copy version and it arrives with backwards pages, please let me know and I can replace it for you.

Also, I thought I would share digital proof copies of the book with you if you would like to read over the summer. If you do, I hope you enjoy it:

HIS Community Copy (English) – Conversations for a Global Child (This is the proof that was later formatted for printing.)
