Dear HIS Community
We had another fun week at school with lots of learning happening across our units of inquiry. Please see the Crane Video for some action in the KG/Gr1 classroom looking at some mathematics skills as well as some great artwork. As we are a PreKindergarten-Grage 12, we see the whole learning journey of students and in this week’s Alumni talk, you can hear from Elin who is now at university and talks about her pathway into the Arts, which started many years ago with her creative activities in the primary school, perhaps even making seed pictures. You never know where your artistic exploration will lead you. Many thanks to Elin for sharing her story with us. Enjoy your weekend.

National Day of Unplugging
Here are some materials prepared by our Secondary Student Representative Council (SRC) promoting a national day of unplugging. I think we could all get behind this one. Well done, SRC!
Kanji kentei information/日本漢字能力検定のご案内
HIS日本語科では、生徒の漢字スキルの向上を目標として、6月17日(金）3、4時間目にHISを受験会場とした、任意の「漢字検定」団体受検をすることになりました。今週お子様に配布いたしましたパンフレットをご参考下さり、お子様の受検を希望されるかご検討下さい。
もし受検をご希望される場合は、2022年3月11日(金)までに担当日本語教員宛に受検を希望されるお子様のお名前、受検を希望される級をEメールでご連絡下さい。
その後、2022年3月22日～31日までの間にパンフレットの裏側にある申込用紙A、B、領収書に必要事項をご記入の上、受験料と共に封筒に入れて、受検を希望されるお子様の名前を封筒に書いたものをオフィスまでお持ち下さい。受検料金は受検級によって異なりますので、パンフレットの準会場検定料をご確認の上、お釣りの必要がないようにご協力ください。

Information about the Japan Kanji Aptitude Testing
HIS Japanese department will hold “Kanken”, the Japan Kanji Aptitude Testing, at school on Friday, June 17th during the periods 3 and 4 as an optional activity.
Please read The “Kanken” brochure that was handed out to your child this week. Please let us know via email if you would like your child to participate in the testing by Friday, March 11th.
If your child participates in “Kanken”, fill in the application form both A, B and receipt at the back of the “Kanken” brochure and bring it with the examination fee in a named envelope to the office between March 22nd and 31st. Please prepare the exact amount for payment.
