The Crane, 10 October 2025

We are looking forward to seeing everyone for the Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences. These meetings are a great opportunity to talk about how your child is doing and what goals they can focus on next. It’s wonderful to see so many meaningful conversations happening already.

Next week is an exciting one for Secondary! Students head off on their camping 🏕️ trip on Wednesday.

Our Volleyball 🏐 teams are competing in their big tournaments—boys at FIS and girls at NIS. So far, the boys remain undefeated! We’re proud of all our students for their effort and team spirit.

Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences are especially valuable because they bring all three voices together—the teacher, the parent, and the student. These meetings encourage students to take ownership of their learning and reflect on their progress, strengths, and areas for improvement.

They are important because they:

  • Promote student agency by giving students a chance to share their goals and learning reflections directly.
  • Strengthen communication between home and school, ensuring everyone understands the student’s needs and next steps.
  • Build shared responsibility for learning, helping students see that parents and teachers are partners in their success.
  • Foster growth mindsets by focusing on progress, effort, and future goals rather than just grades.

When students take part in these conferences, they become active participants in their education, which increases motivation, accountability, and a deeper sense of belonging in the school community.
