Dear HIS Community

I hope you have had an enjoyable week. Our visitors from the Netherlands returned home and they had great experiences during their time here in Japan. Thank you very much to our host families, once again. We hope to send our students over to the Netherlands in September this year.

We are all ready for Fun Day tomorrow at school and we really appreciate all of the PTA members who have been working so hard to create this great event for our school community. See you there.

I thought you may find these ideas interesting, especially as all of the IB programs have a strong focus on the very broad range of Approaches to Learning skills which your child may be able to talk to you about. The Approaches to Learning skills overlap the ideas presented here.

Enjoy your weekend and don’t forget about Sports Day at Coca-Cola Stadium next Friday!

Regards

Damian Rentoule (Principal)

Action project by Grade 5 students

Hello, our names are Erika, Koto, Phoebe, and Ruby.

This year is the Grade 4-5 Exhibition and our group is researching about Kids Rights To Education.

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

Not all Kids in the world are getting an education and we think that is not fair. Some people complain about school while there are some people on earth that don’t even have an education! 264 million children cannot go to school all around the world!

For our action we are going to send books over to a school we have connected with in Cambodia. We are asking for your help. Here is what you can do.

  1. Please bring in some books ( fiction and non-fiction) that you are no longer using
  2. Choose easy books
  3. Make sure you bring them before April 18th
  4. If you have the books put them in the box that says “put the books you don’t need in here” in the genkan before April 18th

Thank you.
